Notes and Comments
CSA MEMBERSHIP Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is for those committed members who pay a 10-
month membership fee for a weekly supply of seasonal produce from our farm. This helps cover our operation
costs for seed, organic fertilizers, fuel, equipment, labor, greenhouse supplies, etc. We plan and work
throughout the year to provide our members with an equal share of produce on a weekly basis. The share of
produce is available for pick-up every week during the growing season. There are some breaks in delivery
during the summer and late winter, but our goal is to provide 42 weeks of produce throughout the year.
WHAT WILL MEMBERS RECEIVE? You will receive on average 8 to 12 different types of vegetables, fruits and
herbs each week. Our farm grows over 100 varieties all year, however, production is always dependent upon
the weather. The share will generally supply a normal family of 4, although we do realize most of our members
are above normal. Some couples without children may choose to share their box with another couple, or single
person, we do not recommend this for families with children. Our members generally LOVE vegetables and
LOVE to try new things. Our goal is to deliver 48 weeks of seasonal produce. Spring (Mar-april) lettuce, baby
greens, radish, beets, turnips, kale, swiss chard, peas, spinach, cabbage, carrots, yello and red onions,
broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, fennel, dill, parsley, collard greens, boc choy, potatoes, cucumbers, squash,
herbs… Lots of greens!!!Summer (May-Aug) cucumbers, celery, beans, green beans, onions, garlic, squash,
zucchini, tomatoes, sweet peppers, hot peppers, okra, eggplant, melons, watermelons, herbs…Late Summer
Break (Aug 15- September 15) the farm takes a 4 week break every year depending upon the weather. We
take this time to prepare for the fall. Fall (Sept-Dec.) arrugala, sweet peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, green
beans, dry beans, corn, squash, winter squash, green tomatoes, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, kale, radish,
mustard greens, Asian greens, lettuce, baby salad mix, collards, beets, carrots, herbs… Lots of greens!!!
Winter (Dec-Mar) Broccoli, cauliflower, fennel, cilantro, cabbage, celery, kale, collards, Lettuce, edible flowers
in lettuce mix, arrugala, radish, .... lots of greens!!
WHAT IS THE COST?The annual membership varies with each drop site. Members pay three months in
advance ($420) due one month before membership starts and then monthly ($140) starting on the 1st of the
second month of the CSA share.
NO refunds are available, however, you can cancel at anytime, or transfer your share to a friend.
WHAT IF I'M OUT OF TOWN ONE WEEK?Let us know so that we can provide more food for our other
members, or we recommend that you find someone who is able to take your share. The garden still grows and
we still need to harvest. If you so choose, any shares not picked-up will be donated in your name.
WAITING LIST Each season is planned in advanced and there is limited space available. Membership is
available first-come, first-served until we are full. If farm membership is full at the time you send your
Application & Membership Fee, we can return your check or hold it for the first available space. The waiting list
may be for up to 6-12 months depending upon the season. No checks will be accepted without the completed
application form. MEMBERSHIP EXTRAS We work with other local farms to supply our members. One farm can
only supply so much. That's why we network with other family farms that are committed to the highest
standards in growing their food. We coordinate with these farms offering our membership a larger selection of
local food throughout the year.
We also have a Yahoo Group to share recipes and news from the farm. You can join this Yahoo Group by
visiting our website. The farm also hosts seasonal events and tours for our members. Members receive a
weekly email update giving a farm report, maps to your drop-site, a list of what's in your box, a list of what's
coming soon, recipe links and special notices.
